Feb 7 – AS ABOVE SO BELOW: a tribute to The Incal by Jodorowsky & Moebius

In November of 2012 Ian MacEwan put out a call to artists who follow his Quenched Consciousness tumblr that they would be holding an Incal Panel Contest. The challenge was to redraw a single a panel from the masterpiece by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Moebius. This proved to be an enlightening exercise for the artists who participated. I contacted Ian and proposed that we present an art exhibit of the beautiful submissions. We will produce digital prints from the 20 artists that participate and also publish a small catalog of the show which will be available for purchase. A few of the original drawings will also be on display and for sale.

Bio info:

Quenched Consciousness is a blog exploring the work of Jean Giraud, aka Gir, aka Moebius. Basically, there didn’t seem to be any places online that gave a comprehensive collection of his work, so Ian made one.

[The official site of Moebius] – While there are very few of his works available to an English-only audience, the last thing Ian wants to do is take away from potential sales by hosting his work here. If you speak French and can enjoy his books the way they were originally meant to be enjoyed, please click over and show him some love.

  1. Awesome! Will the catalog be available online? Or at least a website so that people who can’t go to the exhibition can seen the works of art too? 🙂 Thanks
