Floating World Presents … Awake Time Stories
Join us for a night of Portland artists showcasing their latest works. Phoebe Mol will be reading “Extinction,” a story following a solitary creature foggily recalling their past companion; moving towards an otherworldly reunion. Cam McCafferty will be reading “Prayer Blanket,” a comic about their thoughts and feelings on spirituality, sexuality, and family. Quinn Amacher will be reading “Puh-cest,” a succubus erotica eco-horror story taken from her upcoming solo anthology, Frolic. Sean Christensen and his group Phull Collums Ensemble will be performing a piece recently written in tribute and for a benefit to the IPRC.

Phoebe Mol is an artist and arts educator based in Portland. Their comics have been published by Fieldmouse Press, SOLRAD Presents, and Oroboro literary journal. Phoebe’s work lives in the space between subconscious experience and personal symbolism.
Quinn C Amacher is a cartoonist. Her comics invite the reader to play with new ways of imagining how our bodies relate to each other and to our environment. She is author of the graphic novel Syncing (Secret Room Press, 2023) and a contributing artist to Changing the Narrative (Street Roots, 2022-2024), a comics ethnography of student homelessness.
Cam McCafferty is a genderfluid, Asian-American comic artist and zine maker. Their work has been described as “sometimes silly, sometimes deeply touching.” They are interested in magic, transformation, flawed romance, and complex depictions of queer characters of color.
Sean Christensen was born in Portland, Oregon. His personal artwork has always been rooted in the practice of drawing, which may translate into book arts, comics, paintings, writing, video, music or performance. Most recently Sean has been published by Secret Room Press with the book The Pattern Grows Clearer. He will be performing with his group Phull Collums Ensemble consisting of artists Biz Miller, Christopher Adams, Vanessa Johnson, Amanda Berlind & Sean Christensen.
